A very hard earned victory for the reserves against a big strong Continental Star side who knocked the ball around well. First half Star had a lot of possession but didn't test Belford in the Adders goal. Adders struggled to keep possession resorting in playing a lot of hopeful long balls & also failed to test Continental's keeper. H/T 0-0. Second half the Adders picked up their game & 10 minutes in changed to a 3-5-2 formation with Lloyd Storey & Jamie King coming on upfront. The strikers made an impact straight away combining to get the goal with King slipping Storey through one on one & he neatly placed the ball into the bottom corner. The two caused Star many problems holding the ball up well & bringing the midfield into play. Adders were a lot sharper to the loose balls & closed Star down quickly when they were in possession which stopped them playing it around as in the first half. As the half went on Star pushed more men forward in search of a goal & got their chance when Dan Creaney tripped a Star forward in the box but he smashed his effort off the underside of the bar & Albrighton made a great tackle to stop the rebound being put it. Moments later Belford pulled off a good save getting down to claw out an overhead kick effort. Adders then caught Star on the break several times & should of sealed the win with King & Brindley missing close range chances but in the end one was enough.
